Vasteras Wins It All

I mean, it's really a thrilling story to be behold, by any VHL fan from any league. The Vasteras Iron Eagles have won the VHLE Championship.

 

After going down 2-0 against the Stockholm Vikings in Round 1, the Iron Eagles stormed back, winnings Games 3, 4 and 5, 5-2, 8-0 and 6-0. The Vikings would come back and win Game 6, but ultimately Vasteras won Game 7 by a score of 4-3.

 

After that series comeback against Stockholm, they would do similar things when they faced off in the finals against the Rome Gladiators. Rome would win the first 2 games, and the Iron Eagles had their work cut out for themselves once again. Vasteras won Game 3 by a score of 4-3, then the Gladiators won Game 4 5-4 and went up 3-1 in the series. The cursed 3-1 STHS series lead. The Vasteras Iron Eagles were primed to win this series after being down 3-1, no? Vasteras then went on to win Game 5, 4-3.....and decided to showcase their offensive prowess in the next 2 games. In Game 6, they killed the Rome Gladiators with a 7-4 score, and repeated that in Game 7 with a 6-1 blowout.

 

You definitely have to feel for the Rome Gladiators. I can't imagine what that locker room was like with a 3-1 series lead. But I can't feel for them for long, because I just won a championship. Their failure is my victory.

 

The VHLE's first champions are the Vasteras Iron Eagles! Coming back from their franchise closure many seasons ago in the VHL, they storm back in the VHLE's inaugural season and win it all. I would like to thank my GM and my teammates. What a ride that was. See you all in the VHL in the future!
