Mississauga Hounds winger Vasile Lamb has been on fire so far this season, recording 17 goals and 19 assists (36 Points) in just 17 games. This has helped the team jump start to a 13-4-0 record, which currently is good for 3rd in the VHLM, and 2nd in the Eastern Conference. Many scouts are proclaiming him as one of the top prospects for the Season 82 VHL Entry Draft, and we have complied the draft reports we have seen into a list of pros and cons regarding the young winger.

Pros:

-Shot

Scouts unanimously agree that Lamb already has an elite-level shot. Whether it's a wrister, slapper, tip, snapper, any type of shot you can imagine, he can do it just as well as any player in the VHL. In the Romanian Elite League III all-star game skills competition, he won the hardest shot (96.3 Mph) and the shooting accuracy (10.43s) events. His shooting style has been compared to the likes of Brendan Telker and Henry Tucker.

-Personality

Another thing most, if not all scouts can agree on, is Lamb's personality. Although he does have a fairly thick accent and isn't completely fluent in English just yet, VHLM and VHL management teams have been pleasantly surprised by how humble and outgoing Lamb is. He is quick to put his teammates first, praising them as the reason for all his successes. Being from a small, tight-knit community, it makes sense why he is the way he is. Another word thrown around is "born leader". High praise all around.

Cons:

-Defense

Another knock on Lamb has been that he is a very raw prospect in his own zone, meaning that outside of his shot, he still has a ways to go using his talented frame. He describes himself as more of a checking forward, but often is seen missing on hits against opposition rushes, and being caught flat-footed on a turnover. No reason a little coaching can't fix his quirks, but for now, his defensive game needs a bit of work. Obviously, as a winger, defense isn't the first thing he is thinking about, but as someone who is a self-described "200-foot player", it just isn't there yet.

-Versatility

Vasile really lacks the "swiss army knife" type that most VHL teams are looking for. As previously stated he can shoot with the best, but put into other positions, such as a shootout, penalty kill, or broken plays, he isn't the greatest. No doubt, all this can be improved, but for now, the best thing to do is give him clean passes to get even cleaner looks. If you can do that, this is a non-factor.

Projection
If Lamb can work on his stick-handling, and overall creativity around the ice, he will easily become a dominant offensive winger in the big leagues.
