N0HBDY 1,128
Cole Pearce Age: 16 Height: 6’8" Weight: 195 lb. Position: G Nationality: Greece Cole Pearce, a naturally talented goaltender who started out in small hockey clubs in Greece, he worked his way into top programs in the United States along with his brothers. Drafted 1st overall in the S81 VHLM Entry Draft by the Saskatoon Wild. The 16 year old Cole Pearce was thrown into the starter role right away for the Wild. Now Cole should be expected to go in the 1st-2nd round for both the VHL's and VHLE’s upcoming drafts. Pros: High Game: Pearce is a good hybrid goalie, he has great reflexes and hand speed, his high game is not too much to worry about. Shot Control: Cole Pearce has a great ability to direct any puck shot at him into any direction for the rebound. A combination of natural and taught ability has help him develop this and many other skills which have also helped him adapt him game and become a deciding factor in most of the games that he plays. Reflexes: Cole Pearce has an impressive ability to react to everything coming at him and also move his hands/body in the right way to help him stop the puck. It’s not very often that a player has great reaction time and the reflexes to keep up with it. Cons: Low Game: His low game follows close behind his high game but just falls short. He struggles to go from post to post at times and just move around from different angles when his opponents are moving the puck efficiently. Skating: Cole Pearce’s skating ability is average at best, not only does he struggle on moving fast from angle to angle but he also struggles to get in the proper form while doing it, his skating ability should be a priority of his to improve which will help him round out his game better. Size: Cole Pearce’s size ironically is a problem, for being a 6’8” goaltender. When he is in the net he condenses himself and takes up less of the net because of it. He should look to change the way he stands and overall his style to make him take up more of the net. In summary Cole Pearce is seeming to be a hybrid goalie with a strong high game, but a lacking low game. In the future I could see whatever club at the next level that drafts him will work with him on the cons above to help round out his game and help him become a stronger, larger, and more consistent goalie, especially one that is harder to score on. 429 words Edited December 13, 2021 by N0HBDY Shindigs 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/113354-cole-pearce-psr/ Share on other sites
