Game Review (137: Halifax 21st vs Philadelphia Reapers):

A close game that left many bookies in Las Vegas sweating during the 3rd period after Halifax mounted an epic comeback which left them merely one goal back of the VHLM leading Philadelphia Reapers with 8 minute to spare. Outshooting the Reapers 9-2 in the 3rd, Halifax continued their pressure but were unable to get past the starting goaltender, Red Gaming. With only 4 losses in 28 games, many did not expect the 3rd period to go the way it did, but the Reapers squeaked by with yet another win to continue their domination of the VHLM.

Game 131 Review:

This game between the Mississauga Hounds and the Houston Bulls would see a lopsided result for Houston. The trade between the San Diego Marlins and the Houston Bulls saw ex Marlin Ivan Retoslav making his debut for the Bulls. The first period was a tight affair with Houston scoring on the Powerplay about midway through. But as the second period came along the Bulls would end up scoring three goals within the span of a little over a minute. Ayomide Ayodele would have a beauty of a shot beating goaltender Jean Mercier from the blue line. The third period was well defensively coached, as both teams didn't let up a goal. Jean Mercier (the Mississauga goalie) would have a night to forget making 38 saves from 42 shots. The final result saw the Houston Bulls beat Mississauga 4-0.

Game 136 review:

With an exciting matchup at hand between two teams in the western conference the Saskatoon Wild and the Mexico City Kings but, it resulted in a lopsided affair. Both teams are battling for every point in the western conference standings, and it showed on the ice with a multitude of penalties throughout the game. The first period saw the Saskatoon Wild score the first two goals, but a top right snipe from Leandro Goncalves on Mexico made it 2-1. The second period would only see Chase Taylor of Saskatoon to notch his 9th goal of the year. The third period would see a dominate performance by Saskatoon by slotting in three more goals by Mexico City net-minder Freddy Freeze. The final score would be 6-1 Saskatoon with all three stars of the game led by Chase Taylor, going to Saskatoon players. Saskatoon would eventually take on the Miami Marauders in their next matchup, and the Mexico City Kings would take on the Houston Bulls.

Over the past week, the Hounds have lost two of the best players on their roster. The trade that took Leandro and Hunor to the Kings definitely left a dent in the squads' overall rating.

Even so, these Hounds' never lose posture and playing against the 12-13-2 Aces' didn't lose the game without making it a tough fight. Out-shot 37 to 23 in the game and losing 4-0 at the first intermission, the Hounds dominated the remainder of the game and outscored the Aces 4-2.

Both teams' players deserve a shoutout for it was indeed a great hockey game! But, a more interesting storyline should be the continued growth from the Hounds. Is it sustainable!? Guess we'll find out!

Game 135 Review:

This matchup is between the Ottawa Lynx and San Diego Marlins, who are both vying for a playoff spot at the moment. This game was high scoring, with already four goals in the first period. Justin Adolfsen got on the board fast with two goals in a matter of 3 minutes and 29 seconds, putting the Marlins up 2-0 early, however the Ottawa Lynx would strike back, with two goals from James Marino and Deron Nesbitt, tying the score at 2. Heading into the second, it was all the Marlins, who put up four goals in the second period. Goals were scored by Landon Wolanin, Ryan Zilbert, a bot, and Justin Adolfsen, who netted his hat trick. The Ottawa Lynx were able to put a dent in the lead, with Daniel Clarke scoring a goal to have it be 6-3 at the end of the second. In the third, it seems the scoring died out a bit, but there was still goals nevertheless. Ottawa was able to score two quick goals, by Connor Aguirre and James Marino, but it was quickly shut down by the San Diego Marlins as Ryan Zilbert scored late into the third to ice the game at 7-5. I want to give a shoutout to Justin Adolfsen who had a hat trick and two assists with a +4 in that game, absolute amazing performance from him as he propels the Marlins 7-5 over the Lynx!

Game 140 Review:

Next up, we have the Miami Marauders taking on the Saskatoon Wild, two very good teams in the VHLM looking to crack top four. We opened the first period with plenty of action, with the Saskatoon Wild coming out with an early 3-0 lead, scored by Minou Lambert twice, and the great jr. However, the Marauders wouldn't go away as Flynn Gardner scored on the powerplay and 12 seconds later, Igor Molotov, league leader in goals scored his 35th of the season to keep the score at 3-2. Heading into the second period, there was only one goal, by the Marauders who tied this one up, scored by Brooks Boleski. We go into the third where with 41 seconds left in the game, James Kagelberg scores on the powerplay to give the Marauders a 4-3 win over the Wild! This game was a fantastic one all the way to the end and delivered on the hype that is these two teams. I want to give a quick shoutout to Minou Lambert who had 2 goals for the Wild despite taking a 4-3 loss.
