Traveling History with William Groves Part 5: Visiting Vasteras

Recommended Posts

I back with part five of my travel/history blog as I criss cross the VHLE. As for the Watchmen, I am proud of how the team is handling adversity. We has risen to the occasion at every turn and it shows in the standings. Today I will be guiding you through one of the smallest communities to hold a VHL franchise. Vasteras is also only 100km away from another city with a VHLE franchise, that being Stockholm. That being said Vasteras has enough points of interest to make a visit worth it. As one the oldest cities to Sweden, it would be disappointing if there were no Viking ruins to explore. Thankfully, the massive barrow of Anundshog just outside the city is just the place to connect with the Norse past or just pretend your the Dragonborn. Within the city there is a 13th Century red brick castle  my bricklayer father would love. There is a small museum in the castle that is a good place to get introduced to this city. The nearby green park makes it the prefect place to chill. Another location like to chill in is the historical district of Kyrkbacken. This laid back place is my favorite place for a stroll. The great restaurants nearby also makes this district a personal favorite. The teams favorite spot for some fun is the Kokpunkten Waterpark, a former steam works turned indoor water park located just behind the hotel the team stays. It is a perfect place to either chill and relax or have a action packed blast. Vasteras is a good little town.
