Team Canada WJC hype

Who have the best team this season in the WJC. In this article I will analyst every roster in the WJC and give my opinion on which one has the best roster.

 

Forward

 

The first player is left winger Mason Jones, the Istanbul forward was playing his first and last seasons in the VHLE. Jones had a had a good season with them and had 86 points in 72 games. The Riga Prospect already played in the WJC 3 times and he is one of the most experience player in the tournament. Played with team Canada, last season having 6 points in 8 games and the season before that with Team world where he put up 3 points in 8 games. So if he continue to double his points every season he should have this season a total of 12 points in 8 games.

 

The second forward his Johnny Xavier, he his coming in hot from the VHLE where he put up 80 points in 72 games in the regular season and 10 points in 11 games in the playoff. Xavier did played last season on team Canada is a very good player he put up 5 points in 8 games and he is looking to break his personal record this season.

 

The third player his James Glove Dropper having a huge season this year with Stockholm having 90 points in 72 games. He is also like Mason Jones in his third time in the WJC so another experience player for team Canada, last season with team Canada he had 10 points in 8 games. I think that lines Jones- Xavier – Glove dropper can be one of the best or not the best lines in the tournaments.

 

The fourth player is Weenuk Warrior he is coming from a season of 51 points in 72 games with the Oslo Storm. The passing first forward played with team Canada last season I the WJC where he put up 4 points in 8 points. If he is on a line with some good goal scorers he can do some damage.

 

The fifth players is  DB III, he is coming from the champion team in the VHLE and he has put up 76 points in 72 games this season. He also was their last season with team Canada and he had 11 points in 8 games.

 

The sixth player Badley Buzzer, played with Bratislava this year where he put up 89 points in 72 games. He did also played in the WJC two season ago, but with team Asia  so he is back in the WJC with an other team.

 

The seventh player Bob Chicoine who was playing in the VHLM with Philadelphia had a excellent season with the team having a campaign of 88 points in 72 games, people are going to underestimated him, but he know his way in the tournament, he did put up 6 points in 8 games last season with team Canada.

 

The eight player is Jack Hextall the Houston forward had a season of 46 points in 72 games but he really perform in the playoff where he have 15 points in 18 games. First time in the WJC so he is one of the younger player in the tournament but he his has a lot of experience player he can count on.

 

The ninth and last forward is Ashton Komaryk, the Cologne forward had a great season with Cologne this season with 73 points in 72 games. He already have 1 season of WJC under his belt. 

 

Defenseman

 

The first defenseman on the roster his Seymour Butts, he was playing for Stockholm this season and had a season of 79 points in 72 games. This tourney would be his first experience in the WJC, but he can do some damage.

 

The second defenseman his James Teekirque, had a season of 44 points in 72 games with Oslo. He didn’t have the season that we expect him to but I am sure he can bounce of that season and play better.

 

The third defenseman Cameron Elsby, his an experience one for the Canadienne d-line. Played in the WJC in the S79 season and he is making a comeback.

 

The fourth and final defenseman his AirRig GoodBrandSun he his playing with Houston in the M and he his playing phenomenally with them having 94 points in the regular season and 21 points in 18 in the playoff so far. That’s is 2 excellent duo of defenseman who can shoot, pass, play the body, and are excellent in their zone too.

 

Goalies

 

The starter Goalie is Ben Dahl the goalie for Stockholm he had a great season winning 28 start out of 43, had a 0.922 save percentage and a 3.29 goals against average. He already played in the WJC last season, but with Team World and he perform quite well. Winning 3 out of his 5 starts having a 0.923 saves percentage and a goals against average of 3.20.

 

The backup goalie for Team Canada his Brandt Fuhr he was playing for the Mexico city kings in the VHLM. Fuhr had 29 wins in 47 start a 0.905 save percentage average and a 3.15 goals against average.

 

Why is Canada the best team

 

They have the best roster on paper, but that doesn’t mean anything really. They just have that star power with all their defenseman being around the 350 tpe and  3 of their forward are at 400 tpe.

If Simon taught us anything it's that he loves nothing more than the tears of stacked teams like Moscow, Philly and Houston. But we have a great group of players and I've enjoyed our time in the LR so far. Look forward to the captaincy vote ending as soon as the index goes up for the tournament, at which point there will be an announcement post on the forums.
