dogwoodmaple 380
Despite the Miami Marauders' season ending in the playoffs, the work hasn't stopped for rookie forward Dogwood Maple. After joining the Marauders just after this season's trade deadline, Maple quickly got himself into VHLM game shape and appeared in 16 games in the regular season and playoffs. That hard work has continued and he's barely taken any breaks since their heartbreaking loss in the postseason. "I just can't afford to get complacent," Maple said, "with the Draft and scouting and everything coming up so soon, I need to use every second I can to stay in shape, hone my craft, and do everything I can to be a gamechanger at my new home." When asked if he preferred a team, the rookie offered only a wry smile and an emphatic "no". "All I can tell you is that I'm looking for a team who will help me build a strong foundation for my future. In order to be the best, you've got to be around the best. Culture is definitely something that's important to me when it comes to locker rooms." In fact, Maple had to cut our interview short to head back to the gym for his second workout of the day. He's certainly putting his money where is mouth is as far as this offseason is concerned. "He's serious about winning," one anonymous scout told us.
