With the Season 83 draft being only a day away, we've stopped by to ask Tomas Søgaard his opinions on the draft experience and where he think will land.

Tomas, how does it feel to be experiencing the VHL draft as a young draftee?

"Honestly, this is a day that I've been looking forward to for a long time. Wherever I get drafted will shape how I experience the league, so it's both exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. I'm excited to join the locker room of a VHL team and interact with my new teammates who all share the same common goal. That is to make each other better, and win.”

If you had a choice of where you were to land, where would you choose?

“Well, in my eyes I think the top 6 is locked down. For any team in the top six, I think it will be very hard for a General Manager to pass on Sundin, Fuhr, Molotov, Voss, GoodBrandSun, or Sakamoto. I’d personally love to go number 7, a combination of going to an original team like Toronto with a rich history, and being selected as the first of the second group of players selected would be a dream of mine. Otherwise, I’ll happily play wherever I land. D.C. Dragons look to have a very strong current team, with familiar faces for myself. As well, HC Davos is looking to have a strong S84 draft, which would be exciting to see from the inside.”
