Dogwood logs first points for Las Vegas

It didn't take long for Las Vegas Aces' first round pick Dogwood Maple to make his mark for his new squad.  Through four games with the Aces, he has three points and hopes that is the beginnings of a Rookie of the Year type season in Sin City.  Maple has also accounted for four hits, one blocked shot, and has an impressive plus-minus of +5.  

 

Despite the strong start with his points, Maple is still searching for his first goal for the Aces, something which has eluded him thus far this season.  A few of his shots have been the victims of incredible saves by opposing goalies, while more than a few of them have been just barely deflected at the last minute by an opponent. 

 

The Aces have high hopes for the season and are considered one of the favorites to win it all, but will need Maple to live up to the offseason hype and turn in some consistently elite performances game in and game out for Las Vegas.  If they get the same level of play from the preseason, the Aces will be almost impossible to stop this year - not to mention that Maple will be on the shortlist for some awards if that happens.

As soon as the PP starts firing and the 1st line gets back into that groove, I have no doubt the three of you will start racking up points like crazy.
