Harumpf 313
SASKATOON WINS!!! Jarome Iginla and Oskars Harumpf embrace afer scoring the opening goal in game 7, linemate Ashton Galbraith looks on. The trio put up 8 points in a game 7 victory! Wow, what a series between the Saskatoon Wild and the Brampton Blades! It ook 7 games, but eventually we found a winner as the Saskatoon Wild won the final 2 games of the series, including game 7 on the road to send the Blades packing. This series started off looking like the Wild were going to run away with it, they got out to a 2 game lead, winning both games on the road. However, Brampton won the next 2 in Saskatoon's barn to tie the series at 2-2. Then Brampton won game 5 in Saskatoon to put the Wild on the brink of elimination. Game 6 was gut check time for Saskatoon as they faced elimination on home ice. They best players stepped up as deadline aquisition Kez Kincaid had 3 points along with linemate Rami Jakobsen and goalie Gunnar Skovsgard posted a shutout. These team leaders really stepped up when it mattered most and deserve a lot of credit for their great performances. Saskatoon won the game 3-0 and were looking good heading into game 7. On to game 7 in Brampton to decide our series winner. Little Oskars Harumpf opened the scoring just 56 seconds in on the powerplay from Iginla and Galbraith. That line has been dynamite in the series and were just getting started in this game. The Blades would tie it up though a few minutes later, but Saskatoon took a 2-1 lead to end period. The Harumpf-Iginla-Galbraith line would strike again in the 2nd period to put Saskatoon up 3-1. Brampton would make it 3-2 going into the 3rd. Then Harumpf and Galbraith set up Joshua Rubin for his 1st goal of the playoffs to make it 4-2 and that's how this one would end. 8 points combined for he Harumpf-Iginla-Galbraith line and Saskatoon is moving on to the conference finals! Saskatoon winning the last 2 games of the series in exciting fashion means they'll have a lot of confidence headed into the next round. Everyone is playing well and this team has a great chance to win it all. Should be another great series against Ottawa. The Lynx have a lot of good players and the teams know each other well, having played countless times in the regular season. Some would say Ottawa has more superstars, but Saskatoon has a few stars of their own. With Saskatoon coming off an exciting series win and Ottawa not having played a game in a week, Saskatoon should have the momentum in game 1. An opening game victory on the road woud put them in great position to win this series and move on to the championship. One thing at the time though. Saskatoon will enjoy this series win tonight, then get back to work tomorrow. They know they can beat anyone if they play as a team and trust each other. They also know they are never out of a series. Anything can happen in the playoffs! 525 Words Kendrick and kincaid 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/12107-claimedsaskatoon-wins-series-in-7-games/ Share on other sites
