Eagles selects team

After much confusion from his agents and not knowing all the information, Henry Eagles has finally joined a VHLE team. At the beginning his agents told him that he would be entering the draft and being selected in the VHLE draft. Henry took the time getting ready for the draft, showed up and awaited his name. To his surprise, the draft ended and he was not yet called. Something was not right, how could he not be selected by a team?

 

" I was very confused and so was the team that was with me, we sat through the draft and we didn't hear my name called" said Henry " Luckily I noticed a GM from one of the teams and I just asked him what was happening. He explained to me that since I have skipped the M to enter the E and that I was not yet drafted by a VHL team, that I would be entering the E as a free agency. You can just imagine the surprise on my face"

 

After this mishandling of information, Henry quickly removed his agents. He is now being represented by His grandfather Greg Eagles and his father Tom Eagles. There first order of business was to find Henry a team. Many discussions were had with a lot of E teams where each team pitched what they could offer Henry and why they wanted him to play for them. After much deliberation and a long night. Henry made his selection.

 

" It was a tough decision to make, there were many good options and opportunity for lots of ice-time. In the end the final decision I made was based on where I thought I would best fit and where I thought I could grow and succeed the most" Henry continued " I decided to take the Bratislava offer because they offer the best opportunity for me to grow. I don't want to be inserted into the top line just because of the name on my back, I want to earn that spot. With Bratislava, I join a team that just won a cup and is willing to start me on the 3rd line. From there, I will be given the opportunity to increase that ice-time depending on how I play. That is what I was looking for, an option to prove myself and a team willing to give me that chance"

Henry will enter a team who is coming off a championship and his high asperations to win the cup once again. With many players from last years team returning, Henry will really have to prove himself if he wants to work his way up  the lines. This is a challenge he thrives on and after speaking with him, was the biggest reason he decided to play a full season in Bratislava. There are rumors' other teams offered him significant ice-time and while he was very tempted to take them up on their offer, he didn't feel like he deserved that ice time from the start.

It will be interesting to see how Henry adapts to the playstyle of the E as this is a faster, bigger and more intense type of play then what Henry has so far exprienced.
