More thoughts

Finally. It took 19 games, but my player has finally scored a goal at the vhl level. My media spot next week will undoubtedly focus on the event itself, in my traditional storytelling manner, but for now, it's just a relief to see that it finally happened.

 

Getting older is such a strange thing. In some ways I still feel like I'm 17, even though that's 20 years behind me now. My older daughter is 15, my younger 12. I don't really understand where the time goes. Similarly, I've been a member of fake hockey leagues online for over 10 years now. There have been a lot of ups and downs, a lot of championships and near misses, and certainly a lot of time and effort put into making my players as good as I can make them. But ultimately, it isn't the numbers that are randomly generated by the simulation engine that keep me coming back. It's the VHL community.
