Greg_Di 1,028
Since joining Bratislava, Henry Eagles, has not had any time to explore the city in where he plays. Over this past weekend, Henry, found some time to finally explore his surroundings and visited a few locations in order to get to know the city he plays for better. The first stop on his tour was to visit the Bratislava Castle. This is one of the main tourist attractions in the town and is said to have been built sometime in the 13th century. This castle lets you see views of Austria and sometimes even Hungary when you go up to the top towers. Henry has never been to a castle so he really took in all the history that took place in the castle and how it was a big staple in the history of Bratislava. " I think it was pretty interesting, you can walk in that castle and imagine how people lived in the past. I know this castle was reconstructed but you still have a great idea and they preserve many of this historical artifacts here." Henry said " It was a great idea to visit here and take in some of the history and culture of this place that I will call home for this season" The next place to visit for Henry was the Blue Church which is also known as the Church of St Elizabeth. It is said the church was built sometime between 1908 and 1913. The church is known for being painted a pastel blue color and also having blue benches inside of the church. " I am not a very religious person but I am always in awe on how some of these old churches were built, just the quality and though process that went behind constructing these is just magnificent " Henry continues " Any time I am in Europe, I always want to go see the churches. This is also a place where you can talk to the people living here and they give you their history on the church. It's all very interesting" The last place Henry visited and this is a more modern place is the Eurovea waterfront. This is a fairly new waterfront that is being build in the city. It is a nice little area filled with shopping, cafes and restaurant where everyone can go and take in some of the beautiful views after a long day at work. This is where the young and hip go to buy the latest tech and where the older population go to sit down, observe the views and have a nice cup of coffee and desert. " I wanted to come here and see the more modern side of Bratislava, I like how they blend the new with the old. This was a nice place to finish off the tour and I look forward to visiting many more areas in this city" The next tour, Henry intends to visit the Primates Palace, The Old Town hall and more castles. Hopefully learning and visiting historical areas in the city will help Henry understand the city more and want to put more effort into trying to bring this city another championship.
