It is no surprise Ronan Lavelle has been in the spotlight the past few seasons. After a disappointing rookie season, Lavelle was picked by many as the Funk Trophy hopeful (Most Improved Player), and got off to a sluggish start to the season. Since the sluggish start, Lavelle appears to have pulled himself out of the mud and has gotten going in a very unsuspecting way. Throughout his hockey career, Lavelle has been known as a goal scorer, or even as a balanced player as far as goals and assists. Lavelle has 28 points in 25 games played, which is solid and a much better place to where he was last season. He is just 12 points shy of his totals from last season. The kicker? 21 of those 28 points are assists. It seems Lavelle has taken on the role as Idaho, and Sova's playmaker! Lavelle has scored in every other game lately, so maybe the confidence is coming back to him. Gathering points on assists is a great start, will this also gear him up for a goal scoring streak? He is taking one thing at a time, but here is to hoping!
