kikish18 108
Name: Alistar Graves Height: 6’2 ft Weight: 205 lbs Age: 18 Nationality: German (Team Europe) Position: Right Winger Shoots: Right Youth team: Kölner EC U18 Claimed: By Turku Outlaws Traded to Yukon Rush First VHLM season (S39): 41 GP; 11+25; +/- -26; PIM 12 Turcu Outlaws: 22 GP; 10+19; +/- -14; PIM 8 Yukon Rush: 19 GP; 1+6; +/- -12; PIM 4 Alistar Graves is hard working and enthusiasm based player. He has good size and he uses it well so he isn’t afraid from contact game too. Graves has good vision. In the offensive zone he can easily find open spots and uncovered places. . Better than that is his defensive read. Good positioning and fast decision making and simple style of game make scouts rate his hockey IQ highly. Graves is great doing hard work. He isn’t afraid to block shots, do pokecheck or keep playing physical, aggressive game. Even though Alistar Graves is more suited to be penalty killer he has some Hockey God gifts to play in power play. Gifted with powerfull slapshot he can fill empty spot on blue line. However his strong shots are not so accurate so usually shots go wide. Despite inaccurate shot he is good playmaker and master of getting open. Before VHLM Alistar Graves was not named as powerplay specialist but with right linemates he can become such a type player. Especially if he is next to "blind” goalscorer (only fucused doing shot) then Graves task is to make him open and send pass to him! After being called as powerforward or two-way forward Graves actually can be dangerous playmaker. He is still 18 so he can fix his lacks and problems. Graves has two serios problems. First is sloppy and slow skating. Althought Graves is hard to hit on skates it seems problem to him skate enought fast. As Alistar Graves said about himself: "I’m using bad skating technique. It takes a lot strenght for me so I better save some strenght skating little less than I could. Of course in some situations I can’t think about it. I should really work on my skating. Especially accelaration. It is ankward when you see rest of your linemates "flying” on ice.” Another problem for Graves is his ability to hadle puck. He has lack of puckhandling during game. Alistar just avoid to handle puck too long. On the one hand, it is positive in case if he play less risky and he knows that he don’t handle puck well so it prevent from takeaway. On the other hand, line has no forward who could carry puck and could make serious problems to opponents. Puck handling is very usefull skill which doesn’t fit to name „Alistar Graves”. In some ways Alistar tries to compensate his lacks and use his size to make past foe defenders. Episodically Graves can show some nice dekes or creative pass plays or even goalscoring moments. In Germany junior leagues he was named as „Bloodthirster” because of his „aggressive” hits. Graves has huge potencional. If he will work harder he could get rid from his disturbing weakneses to become so good as Ryan O’Reilly. Hockey experts has already called him as O’Rielly analog in some way. Especilly about his confident defensive game. In VHLM he got his place in team in teams as a leader player. Which he obviously not! He must grow to become such a type player. Graves is well suited for 3rd/4th line. Only thing that need to him to develop his talents is game in not even strenghts. That should be his real place in his first VHLM season but my be after year we will recognise another Alistar Graves? Almost forgot to mention. Alistar Graves is mental player so he like to provoke opponent player. Alistar no need to do cheapshots because his character will do it fine. If you ever play against Alistar Graves be sure that he will know what to do with your mom/wife. Already I do apologies if there are any (should be) mazingly stupid grammar mistakes. kikish18 108
Yuo has problem with my Englando? btw - I don't use google translator. I use Tilde computer dictionary for several words. The biggest problem is between Latvian and English grammar structure. If I try to make complicated expressions and senteces in Latvian it is almost impossible to switch that to Latvian. We use a lot commas and constructions for undefined sentence type. There could be hard to find these for NA people illogical sentences. Also there could appear wrong usage of sinonims. Like "well" and "good" means absolutely same in Latvian so sometimes it seems to me that I can use both of then even though only one fits But these are mine not grader problems. eaglesfan036

kikish18 108
I'm ok with a lot of stuff you noted but there are few questions ft = ft. lbs = lbs. If so then I should put "." after every attribute I noted (after age, youth team etc.) aaaand strenght = strength Is this only to Muricans? Senior Admin Will 4,660 Posted September 29, 2014 Senior Admin Share Posted September 29, 2014 Content: 5/5 Nice read up on Graves. This was really well written, especially considering the language barrier. I'm really stoked to have you in Oslo this season! Grammar: 0.25/1 Yeah, I mean this is always going to be a challenge with someone who isn't native to English. But, unfortunately, we have to grade everyones article the same way. The '.' after lbs and ft are really a technicality, but the period is there because they are abbreviations for pounds and feet. And after looking it up, it seems "strenght" is accepted in some way, but I've never seen it. Appearance: 1/1 For sure. Over 500 words? 1/1 Yup. Overall: 7.25/8 FINAL: 7/
