Greg_Di 1,028
A little flashback of my time here in the VHL Wow time flies...The VHL has been around for 15 years. I don't remember when I started my first player in the VHL but I know it was closer to the earlier days when there was no portal and everything was done manually. I don't remember the exact date or year, I'm sure I can find it somewhere in my seasons but I know for sure it was the early days. I crated a goalie by the name of Greg Eagles. I did a few seasons before taking a break due to some real life commitments and just forgot about the league. Somehow, someway I managed to find my way back (I believe it was some sort of email from the league) and it once again peaked my interest. April 17, 2019 is when I returned to the league and I have been here ever since. I once against started off with a goalie named Greg Eagles. This time though I was more dedicated to the league and started capping every week. As of now Greg Eagles has been my best player in the league. He finished with 1336 TPE and quite a few awards. He was also a 2x VHL champion. It was definitely a good re-start to the VHL and it was fun enough that I decided to create another player after Greg retired. Greg was followed up by Tom Eagles. Tom finished with 1326 TPE, a few less then Greg, but it could have been higher. Over the last season I started clicking the Welfare button as with some new life changes (new baby!), I just didn't have enough time to commit to doing PT's. Tom wasn't as successful as Greg in terms of rewards or championships but I definitely had much more fun with this player. This was probably more to do with being drafted by Calgary and almost playing my full career there. It was just a fun locker room to be in and the dedication to win was always there with the core players. This was also the time where I got my first role as the AGM for the Wranglers. I really enjoyed the role and hoping in the future to once again be a AGM or even GM. I unfortunately had to step down from the role due to the same reason I started clicking welfare. Managing is definitely a different side of the VHL and something that is worth exploring more in the future due to the different element it bring to the game. Now as I enter my 3rd year in the VHL and my 3rd player, Henry Eagles, the script in the VHL has been flipped. The new hybrid attributes were released and this adds an extra element to the game. You have to be a little more strategic now of where you put your TPE. This is also the first time that any of my players have played in the VHLE. I skipped the M to go straight to the E and while jumping up to the E right away hasn't given my player the production I am used to seeing, it still enables me to be able to see real time changes to the attributes I add. If I stuck it out in the VHLM to stat pad, I would have been capped at 200. This choice of skipping or not also adds an extra dynamic to players. Overall, so far its been a great 3 years since I have returned to the VHL and I look forward to playing here for quite a bit longer. Happy Birthday VHL! Hoping for another 15+ years as this league continues to grow and evolve! Frank 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/124074-theme-week-vhl-15/ Share on other sites
