Shindigs 1,771
Playoff Hype, or JST Hype? One of the most interesting parts of the season as a VHLM GM is about to start, no not the playoffs. Those are just praying that what you did this time last season will work out for you this season, realistically. Whatever happens there, happens. Simon giveth and Simon taketh away, so as long as you make a decent showing of yourself and your players get to enjoy their season. That's all you can really ask for. No what I'm excited for is the JST and what comes with it, this is where we get to see who the next generation of GMs will likely be. As well as where we get a look at who the hot new prospects are among the 1st gens. It's an invaluable tool for scouting and really was a key aspect in me targetting who I did in the 3rd round (which was Vegas "make or break" round) last draft. Both the players I picked back to back there, having made a trade with Philly happen to make it even possible, ended up being massive players on my team. And some of the best 1st gen prospects in the upcoming VHL/E drafts. @TopTiddee2caught my eye simply because of LR activity. He was, without a doubt, the most active 1st gen in the JST LRs last season. And this season he's paying it forward by GMing there. It's been amazing having him with us on Vegas this season, and as much as I'm sad to see him leave. The fact that a 1st season player picked in the 3rd round is graduating the M in their first season is also exactly what we hope to have happen. As it means that player has gone above and beyond anyone's expectations of them. @RileyL first caught my eye by instantly retiring his first player Larry Abass, to instead make Larry Abass Jr as he had messed up his build on the first one, and it was still week 1. So nothing lost by doing so. Most people wouldn't care enough to do so. So it put him on my radar, and then he had a very good DM scouting interview that I think spanned a couple of days all in all. Which cemented him as someone I was going to pick at my spot in the 3rd if he was available. It will be down to wire as to if he does/doesn't hit 200 by the cutoff. So it remains to be seen if we get to enjoy his services in Vegas again next season, I'd obviously love to have him around for one more season. But with how fire his Fantasy Zone game is, I suspect that won't be what actually happens. Either way, what you do in the JST as a 1st gen is noticed, and it will impact your draft stock. So see it as a golden opportunity, because it is. TopTiddee2 and jacobcarson877 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/125119-jst-szn/ Share on other sites
jacobcarson877 2,529
The amount of agony the VHLM draft put me through has ALMOST been worth it watching how well my JST prodigies from last season have done this season! TopTiddee2 186
I’m proud that I was selected to showcase not only my potential skill as a GM but my personality towards others in the LR as I hope to carry on the tradition of the legendary Shindigs Shindigs 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/125119-jst-szn/#findComment-941900 Share on other sites
