Bratislava on the brink

Bratislava lost a hard fought and close game 5 by a score of 4-3 and puts them on the brink of elimination. They are down 3-2 in the series which looks more like a cup finals then a semi-finals.

 

Both teams have been favorites all season and they are showing why. All the games have been close and game 3 even features a bench clearing brawl where Henry Eagles was ejected just 37 seconds into his shift. We spoke with Henry Eagles on what he and the team need to do in order to tie the series back up.

 

" I think it just comes down to the basics, we need to put more pucks in the net then they do" said Henry " Both the teams want to win this bad and you can see from the energy on the ice this is the case"

 

For the playoffs, Henry has been bumped up to the first line where he has been producing in the assists column. He currently has 5 points with 1 goal and 4 assists. For the Watchmen to tie the series they will need Henry to produce more on the goal side of the game. Henry is known as a sniper but he hasn't been taking many shots during this series. So far in 5 games he only has 10 shots.

 

"I need to get more pucks on the net, if you don't shoot how are you expected to score?" Henry continued " I guess I just feel as the newest player that I have to setup our top guys on the first line but I think going into the next game I have to be a little bit more selfish and believe in myself. I need to get some more goals for my team"

 

With the VHL draft coming up for Henry after this season, now is the time for him to showcase what he can do when the season is on the line. Scouts will be looking at if he can handle the pressure and if he can contribute or will he buckle under the pressure and underperform to his potential. Henry came into this season with lots of hype and potential but has so far failed to live up to his or the hypes expectations. While he did skip the M to play in the E with higher skilled players, that is no excuse for Henry and he knows he needs to do better.

 

" I know the scouts are watching every game and it does add a little bit of extra pressure, especially in a potentially season ending game" Henry continued " It's time to step up to the occasion and be the clutch player that I know I can be. This is what team's are looking for, game changers for when it matters most. I know I need to be better and I plan on being better heading into this game"

 

Game 6 will be played later tonight and we will be watching to see how Henry performs in what could potentially be his last game for the Bratislava Watchmen.
