Following negotiations with management it has been made clear that Alex Johnston will be testing free agency for the first time in their career. Over the past 6 season, Johnston has played for Calgary, Helsinki, and Riga and found some success of late, being named to the season 83 All-VHL 1st team and having produced 527 points in 432 career VHL games including a 17 point rookie season. This veteran player with only 1 season left in their career will be looking to take their talents to just about any team under the condition that they could find their way onto a cup contender at the trade deadline. This should be a interesting offseason as the pool of free agent players only continues to grow. Given the current list of free agents any team could potentially spend right to the cap and build a contender with what could just be the strongest free agency class in recent history.
