Claimed:RNS: First interview with Fedir Okranitz

Recommended Posts

Good day and welcome to RNS, I’m Vince Grey. The VHLM dispersal draft has come and gone, giving 40 players a new home. The GM’s of the league get to see their complete roster, and thus marking the start to season 40. Today we are joined by Fedir Okranitz, who became eligible for the VHLM draft later than the majority of players, but was the first 0 TPE player to be selected, going at 24th overall to the Yukon Rush.

Vince: Glad you could join us Fedir, congratulations

Fedir: Thank you Vince. I’m very happy to be here, and I’m looking forward to my first interview

Vince: Well thanks for giving us the opportunity to be your first, so, 24th overall, how does that feel?

Fedir: I am still surprised, but very happy. Being so far behind the other rookies I was not expecting to go in the first 3 rounds. Going into the draft late put me at a disadvantage but it gave me the motivation to work harder. I need to push to get on the same level as the other goaltenders, especially Niklas Mikaelson. The gap in skill between myself and him is big, but I know I’ll be up there with him soon enough.

Vince: Do you think the Yukon Rush made the right choice using their first pick of the draft to take you?

Fedir: I think it was a big move, but I know that I need to show them they made the right choice in drafting me. It’s going to take a lot of work, but I knew that going into the draft. Being drafted so early I think made other GM’s take notice of me, so now with all the publicity I have to prove that they got the steal of the draft.

Vince: I’ve heard from the Rush that they have been calling you that. How do you think this season is going to go for you?

Fedir: I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a rough start, but once I get more training in throughout the season, my performance will pick up. I’m already showing improvement in my play, but I’m far from my target. Right now I’ve set my sights on being the best I can for my second season. If I can come into it as the #1 ranked, or even #2 behind Mikaelson, I will have completed my goal for this season. It’s going to take some work, more than the average player, but I know I can do it.

Vince: How about the Rush, how do you think they will do as a team?

Fedir: I have not been around the league that much, so I don’t know what the other teams are looking like or what talent they have, I don’t even know the other rookies that were in the draft. So I’m going to be bias and say that the Rush are going to win it all. Even if I knew the other teams, I would say that, just because I know we have a strong team. I’m pretty excited to see what we look like on the ice, and get a chance to see what competition we really have in the VHLM.

Vince: I’m looking forward to this season as well, it’s going to be an exciting one for sure. Unfortunately that’s all the time we have though, so I would like to thank you for joining us Fedir, good luck in preparing for the upcoming season.

Fedir: Thanks Vince, see you later.

There you go, although Okranitz is behind in training compared to the other draftees, look for him to climb quickly to be on the same level. That’s it for our interview with Fedir Okranitz, 24th overall pick of the Yukon Rush, with RNS, I’m Vince Grey. Goodnight.
