One year ago Stark was voted in by his teammates to be one of the Captains of this Calgary Wranglers squad. He was honored at the selection and went on to carry the "A" very well all season, but over the course of this off season, he looks like he is now set to lose that letter, and to a new comer at that. So what happened? Does Calgary not look at Stark as a leader anymore? Was their contract they signed him to just a big joke? Stark was quoted as saying "If I don't get that letter back this season, I'm retiring effectively immediately." If that's true, then does a player with that mentality even deserve the right to wear a letter? We caught up with Stark after a practice session to set the story straight.

"Tony, many people out there are claiming that you said, and I quote: "If I don't get that letter back this season, I'm retiring effectively immediately." Is there any truth to that statement?"

"Man, wow. Where do you guys get this stuff from? I never said that, and I will never say that. I told Brookside I plan on playing out this contract I just signed, then I'm out. Never did I said anything about retiring as a result of losing the letter."

"But you will be losing that letter then?"

"Yes. I'm handing it off to my longtime friend, Thomas Landry. This is his last season, he deserves it. We voted as a team and Landry was one of my votes. He may only be here for this season, but he understands what it means to be a leader and a team player. He will wear that letter with pride. I am not saying I didn't or I wouldn't wear mine with pride, but obviously by not voting for myself I show I am not selfish and I am handing it off to someone who absolutely deserves it. I'm honored myself that I get to hand it off to a player that garners such respect around the league."
