HawksFan19 89
“The clock slowly winds down and that will be it! The Saskatoon Wild are defeated in seven games by the Ottawa Lynx! What a series! Come from behind win for the Lynx” Those were the last words Jarome Iginla heard of from last season. The 20 year old sophomore playing for the Saskatoon Wild just came off his first season with the Wild, and they were one game away from playing for the cup. A feeling Jarome will probably never get out of his body, as he felt decimated and felt the loss was at his fault. Coming into S39 Jarome Iginla was not exactly a touted player for the Saskatoon Wild. Being picked 29th overall in the VHLM Dispersal draft that season, GMs Brett Slobovidian and Mason Richardson both had Jarome playing minimal minutes for the opening half of the season. As the season progressed on, Jarome struggled, he had only mustered 4 points in the first 32 games of the season, and he was basically playing like he was drunk every single night. Lucky for him, the Saskatoon Wild had other players to rely on such as Rami Jakobssen and Mason Richardson, as both had tremendous seasons for the Saskatoon Wild. Around the 40 game mark, Jarome finally felt that he wanted to be a part of his team’s success this season, and he wants to contribute more than 2 minutes a game to the team. With that said, Jarome headed on over to the Wild training facility for the first time this season and worked out with the team. In the first few days Jarome got in considerably better shape, and that went noticed with the GMs as they moved Jarome up to the 2nd line for the 41st game of the season. Jarome continued to play on the second line for the Wild, and he started to produce just like he wanted to, as at the 65 game mark of the season, Jarome had already put up 38 points, 34 points in 24 games is amazing, and Jarome knew it was. As the season winded down, Jarome slacked a bit on his training as his daily visits to the training facility soon became weekly visits. His production still stayed up as he scored another 4 points in the final 7 games of the season, but his work ethic just declined, it went back to the way it was at around the 30 game mark. Playoff time came around and Jarome was ecstatic to actually be playing top minutes in the playoffs. He started to make his weekly visits to the training facility daily, and his scoring went back up, as in the first round of the playoffs, Jarome had 8 points with the Wild, which had put him in 5th place for scoring leaders at the time. He was ultimately unstoppable for the Wild in this series, and both the GMs and teammates were very impressed with his effort. When round 2 came around, it was like Jarome was a shadow on the ice. He barely ever touched the puck, whenever he was on the ice he would be away from the action, and he was shut down by the Lynx defenders on any opportunity he could get, but lucky for Jarome, with the Lynx set on him, they left gaps for other players such as Mason Richardson and Rami Jakobssen to come in and pot in goals for the Wild. The Wild eventually went up 3-0 in the series and it was going all good until game 4. In game four the Lynx laid back on Jarome and let him skate into the zone and do whatever he wanted to do, he even potted 2 goals and an assist in game four, however, the Lynx shut down the other scorers like Jakobssen and Richardson making them not a threat anymore. With most of their top players being shut down night after night, the Wild ended up choking the 3-0 series lead and were eliminated 4-3. All in all, this was a mediocre season for Jarome Iginla, but he hopes that his production will keep up this season, and he will be back to that point per game player we saw in the middle portion of S39. Senior Admin Will 4,660 Posted October 2, 2014 Senior Admin Share Posted October 2, 2014 Content: 3/3 Good read. With your recent boost in activity, I expect Iginla will start improving rapidly and will, before long, achieve league domination. Grammar: 2/2 Good.
