Excited To Start S85

John Richards, Lachlan Summers and Sadie St. Louis all entered S85 VHLM Draft all completely oblivious to what was about to unfold. The first overall selection told us that this draft is going to be unpredictable. Rick Grimes goes first overall. Then at 4th the Ottawa Lynx had their first selection of many in the draft, with the 4th overall pick in the draft the Ottawa Lynx selected elite forward and max earning left winger, Sadie St. Louis.

Sadie was not the first former Marlins player to be taken off the board as goaltender Alexander Minion went third overall. The San Diego Marlins made a surprising move with their first pick in the draft at 6th overall selecting goaltender Lachlan Summers. This meant the final player in the trio that has yet to be chosen is John Richards. The fact that 3 former Marlins ended up going in the first round was surprising, especially since general manager Jacob of the San Diego Marlins took a lot of heat for drafting a goalie with that first pick when there were high level forwards to be drafted.

John Richards was waiting patiently for his name to be called by a team. He didn't go 7th or 8th but Ottawa had the 9th overall pick in the draft too. General manager Lil Z makes the selection and it was Richards who ended up being drafted. Feeling really proud, he questioned why they would waste a first rounder on him when there were so many better players they could've taken instead of him but he's happy he got reunited with Sadie.

Richards is sad that the trio couldn't stay together but he knew that it was virtually impossible for that to happen. All that's left now is to be the best he can for the Lynx and help the team to a winning record and hopefully they make a run in the playoffs. Playing with Sadie on the wing with possibly Brayden Albrecht or Don Aven in the middle would be a deadly line. He is excited to start the season and get rolling.

John Richards has set some goals for himself for the upcoming season. These consist of between 30-40 goals and possibly 40-50 assists he hopes to have over a point per game this season and hopes that he can stay consistent all the way through. He got better consistency wise towards the end of the season with the Marlins and throughout the JST round robin and playoffs was nearly a point per game everywhere he played except for in the Pro Am. He wants to have 25-30 blocked shots or more and over 60 hits on the season when it's all finished as well.

Sadie has already made plans to be the set-up woman for Richards as he chases his goals to be a premier goal scorer in the league. She has an elite scoring ability as well. She was over a point per game with the San Diego Marlins and did very well in the JST too as her team won the tournament. We cannot wait to start the season together and though we will miss Lachlan we still have our entire careers together to play together again one day.

You were a definite 1st rounder don't sell yourself short.. You were the most active and ain't nobody need a goaltender that early, other than defenders you were a shining gem to us

I almost feel so bad about drafting the pair of you now that if Carson wants to do a deal I can make it happen. Was only trying to be a good GM and worked very hard on our draft strategy xD

no no it's all good man!! Sadie and I are excited to play for the Lynx!
