#asktheBouch: Character & Rookies.....

Every once in a while I have some random thoughts about things in the past week or two that I would like to share and this week is no different so while I haven`t done an interview or talk show style of AsktheBouch in a while. I will hopefully get back to this style sooner or later but for now you can see my inner working of my brain with the following topics & thoughts. Lets have some fun!!

 

Character – This past week (uh, I mean like yesterday) I decided to throw a grenade into the locker room of the Vancouver Wolves to see first off how the team was feeling being a .500 team when most predicted we would be contenders this season but also to see if anyone would take accountability for the teams struggles. I was surprised and I am not sure why I was but everyone answered the questions the same way. They all took accountability for our teams current average start to the season but not only that our leaders actually really stood up and even went as far as protecting the rookies. This made me very proud to be a Vancouver Wolves as player and as an Assistant General Manager. We have a bunch of character guys in the locker and if our season does go down in a disappointing fashion, I know we at least won`t be blaming each other but rather taking accountability for our own actions. Like I said I am now proud and cannot wait for the rest of the season.

 

Rookies – As one did mention the pressure should not be placed in the shoulders of the Rookies as we have three rookies making up 50% of our forward line-up so the pressure is actually on the other three to produce but at the same time, we have four very strong defenders that should also be able to aid in carrying the load. While we are not being blown out by any means we need a bit more scoring if we are going to make the playoffs this season. That was always my first goal as we also have to remember the conference, we are playing in this season is stacked.

 

Either way I am proud of the way the team has handled the situation and we will only come out of our current struggles strong. And we will come out of them based on the Character the team has shown so far!! So, I would take this as bit of warning not to take Vancouver Wolves too lightly if I was another team in this league. As we are only getting strong!!
