Dragons vs. Malmo Nighthawks Game Recap Game 439 of the Season 85 Regular Season saw the D.C. Dragons fly to Sweden to face the Malmo Nighthawks . The Dragons come into the game on a bit of a slide, being just 2-5 in their last 7 games. Malmo are no powerhouse themselves and are deep in a race for the 2nd EU wildcard spot. Both teams come into this game looking for precious points in a playoff race. D.C came into the first period firing on all cylinders, quickly firing shots, only to be bested by Malmo starting goalie Boris Tsezar. The Nighthawks had little to stop the shots against, but Boris held on for his team. 12 minutes into the 1st period, Igor Molotov would fire a long stretch pass to Dabnad Shaw, who then on a 2-on-1 would put the puck on the stick of Jakub Brozik. With the defender down, Brozik had time to pick a corner on D.C. starting goaltender Bubbles Utonium, and Brozik would make no mistake, leaving Malmo with a 1-0 lead. The 2nd period would have almost no action, with both teams playing incredibly defensive hockey, and just a total 11 shots occurred between the two teams. Still 1-0 Malmo. The 3rd period was much of the same, with both goalies keeping the game close. That was until Bogdan Trunov, who recently announced their impending retirement, found Cobalt Burns, who sent a tic-tac-toe backwards pass for Max Torq who would finally give us the game's 2nd goal, and some insurance for Malmo. That goal in the end was not even needed, as Boris Tsezar would save all 25 shots against, giving Malmo a 2-0 victory over the Dragons. 278 words.
