oilmandan 688
Rex Wolffe Gregor entered the VHLM after the draft took and got to choose where he ended up playing. After sifting through all the offers, he settled on the Philadelphia Reapers, a new experience for the players in the OMD sports agency. As the only defender to begin with, Rex expected and got heavy minutes in every situation. He capitalized on that opportunity and quickly established himself as a rough and tough offensive defenseman. Rex scored 16 goals and assisted on 34 more as a rookie. He also racked up 132 penalty minutes and a whopping 307 hits! The regular season was a work in progress for the Reapers as they were one of the last teams to qualify for the playoffs. But apparently things came together and they hit their stride once the playoffs began. As of this writing, the Reapers are a game from clinching a Founders Cup title. Gregor has had a big impact on his team’s success so far, scoring 3 goals and adding 13 assists to this point. A championship ring should also give his draft prospects a good boost. Strangely enough though, Rex has only heard from 2 teams about drafting him so far. This has been somewhat discouraging as he feels his talents should be more desired by VHL and VHLE teams, especially as most teams are able yo look towards the draft and not having to focus on the playoffs anymore. In a recent interview, Rex said he’d likely only be interested in playing for teams that made a point of interviewing him and discussing long term plans and goals for both he and the club “ Obviously I’d like to play for someone that at least feigns interest in me, nobody wants to go to a club that has done no research into the players they draft or acquire. If I wanted to play on a team full of clones, I’d have stayed on kamino” haha. No word on who the teams that did reach out are at this time, and we’ll see if the interest picks up closer to draft time. As the highest rated defender to this point, there should be plenty of interest in a league begging for defensive help. Although perhaps familiarity with the OMD sports agency could give a few other teams a sense of what they’d be drafting. But the draft is far away yet from Rex’s mind as he tries to help power Philadelphia to this seasons end goal jacobcarson877 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/128672-rex-wolffe-gregor-scouting-report/ Share on other sites
