1 Hopefully top 3? I think with the off season moves we made, we should be much better set than last season.

2 A lot of fire power brought on to get us some serious wins!

3 Hopefully better than the last. I've put in a lot of work since S87 ended and I'm hoping it makes a difference.

1.  I think we will surprise a bit by landing in second.  I am hopeful that Jacob will be able to dial in the lines and get us going quickly.

 

2.  Offense!  I think the new pieces will bring some extra scoring power as well as some depth.

 

3.  I expect Triller to contribute right out of the gate.  I will be increasing his defensive effectiveness throughout the season so hopefully he can keep shots away from our net and control the puck.  He should be competing for top Rookie so I hope he puts up some assists and meshes well with his linemates.  I want his physical presence to show through as well be getting in as many clean hits as possible!

 

4.  Max earning as much as possible!  I already have my next 5 weeks ready to go but I need to get a few more in the pocket.  Summer brings guests and vacation so I want to be ready for all of those.  Toying with the idea of doing a podcast but it is only early concept stages.  I also am trying to finish a project from my time in Geneva.  My Rookie Experience write up will come in the off-season as I want to include my players stats and a couple graphics I create throughout the season!

 

5.  You're last press conference was great and I would like more teammates to have a go at it!  Learn a bit more about the person!  Also, I always like to hear where their players name comes from.

 

6.  Not much!  Again, I like what was shared in the last presser!  I guess maybe that this is the only online community I have actively joined so I continue to learn about who I am chatting with and how the chats flow.  Hardest is figuring out who is who between their discord name, forum name and player name!

1) Top 3 is the goal, we'll see how Riga progresses and whether Moscow slows down EVER

2) I'm happy with the end result, I wish I had been a bit more aggressive but we come in with a team I'm really excited about.

3) I'm guessing 99 points, seems to happen about 50% of the time.

4) I will need every TPE known to man to fight regression

5) I'm sure there is, but nothing specific, it's just fun to get to know people organically.

I think London will do pretty well this season, not sure where you will rank in the standings, but I do predict you will break the franchises goose-egg for playoff series wins this season.

I think London made good trades, Siyan and Igor are obviously terrific players, Sock Monkey and Adam Rage were also very good value pickups.

I'm still the highest TPA player in the league, so naturally I will finish with 72-80 points again haha

4) How much TPE are you expecting to earn each week this coming season?

Hopefully around 160-180? Keep forgetting what the usually seasonal figure is.

5) Is there anything about your teammates that you would like to know?

I would like to know where Shindigs is please and thank you.

6) Is there anything about yourself that you think your teammates should know?

I'm not actually a board game. It's always tough for me to admit that, but they deserve to know the truth

1. I'm not expecting us to get 1st, but I think we will be somewhere at the top... hopefully.

1.  I went with Brendan Marner.

2. That is the plan but London comes first so if changes need to be made and that results in less production from Triller, I am good with that.

3. Siyan Yasilievich.  Has a good start too!

4. 2160.  Less than last year since we are a better team than last year.  More time with the puck means less time for shots against!

5. Yes we will!  I think this group can do it and we will only get better as the season goes on!

6. You bet!  I predicted it and he has put himself into a great position with the moves he's made and the team he has created!  The London curse stops with Jacob!

1. I'm going to say Igor Molotov, he's been having a fantastic season so far and I believe he'll continue to do so.

2. Yes, I think with the team around him and how well they've been playing, they can for sure be in contention.

5. Yes, I think London will make the playoffs. We'll break the curse and go far in the playoffs!

I have had a number of people like the idea of doing Press Conferences to get to know their teammates

So here we go.

 

1) I took a blacksmithing class on Sunday April 16 and was able to create a letter opener, what is the strangest hobby you have ever done?

2) At least for out North American contingent April is tax submission time, did you complete your taxes on time?

3) What is one city you would like to go to but never have?

4) How big is the circumference of our head? Get out your tape measure or wrap a string around your head and them measure the string afterwards.

5) What is your favorite food?

6) Name one food you hate or at least choose not to eat. Why don't you eat it?

1. Probably this lol. Or general text roleplaying online.

1.  Rock tumbling.  I would go and collect cool looking rocks then put them in a tumbler for weeks switching out varying sand grain sizes till they were all polished and smooth.  It was the loudest machine ever and when I finally stopped, I realized how much noise I was generating.  It was in my youth when we lived on an acreage so I was only disturbing the peace of my own family.  Saints for allowing me to do it.

2.  I most certainly did!  I usually do mine and my wife but this is the first filing with our new dependent so I took them in to be done so I could make sure we were getting everything we could.

 

3.  Not a fan of cities but if I had to pick one I would go with Sydney!  My wife wants to go to London so I would put that in there for her.

4.  22 inches!  I have been told I have a small head and it is evidenced by child bike helmets being a pretty good fit but after a cursory search, the average male head circumference is 22.5" so I am only JUST below that!

 

5.  Probably a burger!  I don't really have a favorite food but if I ever venture out to a restaurant it is what I usually end up getting.  Probably that lack of ambition for trying new things.  It is mainly because I can't imagine paying for something at a restaurant and then ending up not liking it so I go with the safe option.

 

6.  Eggplant.  The texture of it just doesn't do it for me.  Same with calamari.  I keep being told I just haven't had good calamari and every time I try it I still don't like it.

I feel like most people have done this, so I don't know how weird it really is, but as a kid I used to capture frogs, snails, and worms, and put them into a container and keep them as "pets" outside.

yup! I just did mine about 2 weeks ago.

1. Not thrilled, honestly. I've barely been here a year and I don't do graphics well so trying to figure out something to write or padcast for retro in a real struggle. 

2. For me, pixelated Nintendo games and most of the 1990s.

1. I don't mind it!  It is pretty broad and in this context kinda has to mean "old" in my eyes.  It may have well been "history" in the VHL context.

2. Retro to me is 30 years earlier than your age.  The style, the media the content of 30 years ago from your age because retro will change as everyone gets older.  So for me, those neon colors!  Flashy, glowing colors on everything!  Not what my graphic will be though lol

3. When I was little, I had a zip-up that, for each piece, was a different neon color.  Pink, green and blue!  The best part, it came with a pair of sunglasses for each color!  I was matching like a mad man!  Have never had a style since then lol

4. Not very.  I came up with an idea really quick but I put a lot of work into my graphics and only having the week to try to make something I am proud of isn't the easiest!  I've managed to stay ahead and theme week really throws a wrench in that.

5. Definitely!  I would take it personally if he didn't.
6. Oh gees.  That is tough because I only know what the last 4 were and I assume I wouldn't be treading new ground but I'd have to go with Teammate Appreciation.  Someone on your team that is just a positive influence in the discord and on the forum.  I think most members already show their appreciation but I think for a few others, it would be good for them to pay attention to anyone but their own player.

1. I think it's a pretty cool topic, because you can kind of do anything with it.

2. Retro personally is something that is before my time. For example, I ended up doing a graphic with the old Mexico City Kings logo and that was before my time in the VHL.

3. My favorite Retro clothing trend would be Jeans with a button up shirt. I don't even know if that's retro anymore to be honest.

4. No, I think it's fairly easy, especially if you've been in the league for a bit.

5. Oh 100%, I would love to see Jacob in a retro outfit, it would be funny!

6. Wow, I don't even know what I'd do to be honest. Maybe something about past teams you've been on? That could be cool.

1) I really struggled with it, but it is what it is, there was some really cool stuff made so obviously the problem is me.
2) 20ish years old is what I found on the internet.
3) So little of the Y2K era was good for clothing, I do think some 2000s like Disney Channel type outfits are kind of hilarious but certainly not something I could ever bring back (too many layers).
4) I most certainly struggled with it, but the TPE was approved so i will move on.
5) I am still mad that my orange shirt was lost to time because I miss it.
6) I totally understand why the Themes are always meh, because there is not a single good topic. I'd probably pick like "Achievement" or something so everyone can talk about something cool they've accomplished.

It is crazy around here in the Carson household so for the sake of getting a presser out there, here is one!

1. If your player had to play in net for a game (or for @aimkin if you had to play as a skater for a game), how would your player fare?
2. What is the best kind of yogurt?
3. If your player wasn't a hockey player, what would they be?
4. What do you feel you bring to the team?
5. What is something you hope your player can improve upon?
6. Our skaters can't hit the broad side of a barn these days. How would you train them to hit the net?

1. Not too bad, I think. Jesse has had a few assists over their career so I'd think they'd be a decent D man. 

2. The drinkable kind or drowned in granola. 

3. Jesse would probably be the CEO of a non-profit. 

4. That je ne sais quoi that only a non-binary person can lol

5. Not losing their confidence during a shoot out. That is definitely Jesse's weak point right now. 

6. Throw them at it so they are well aware of where it is.
