Jacob Stone's HOF ancestry

Jacob Stone has joined the S88 draft class, and expectations are high for the defenseman, coming from a family that has produced two first ballot Hall of Famers: Benjamin Glover and Diana Maxwell.

Stone's grandfather, Benjamin Glover, played eight seasons with the New York Americans, beginning in S24. Despite reaching the finals five times, he never won a championship, which is undoubtedly the biggest blemish on an otherwise magnificent career. He did help turn around the New York franchise, who saw great success in the years following his retirement.

Diana Maxwell, drafted first overall in the S50 draft, is Glover's eldest child and Jacob Stone's aunt. She started her career with the Stockholm Vikings, but she was traded after her first season to the Americans, where she accomplished what her father could not. During her five seasons with New York, she won two Continental Cups, a Daisuke Kanou Trophy, two Kevin Brooks Trophies, and two Mike Szatkowski Trophies.

Even with the connection that his family has with the New York Americans, Jacob does not necessarily favorite playing for the team. He does, however, have a bit of a desire to follow in his grandfather's footsteps in playing out a full career with a single team.
