The dog days of offseason

The season is over. The meta is back. The Vancouver Wolves have lifted the Continental Cup, and now there are several weeks for drafts, signings, and all the rest of it to happen.

For the players of the Seattle Bears, the offseason has already been in full swing for more than two weeks. Many of the players have gone back home, and are already beginning preparations for S87. There’s much promise if you believe what management say, but it’s fair to say that the team failed to deliver after similar comments were made ahead of S86.

What about Yaroslav Bogatyrev? The second overall pick of the S86 draft had a shocker of a rookie season. He managed only 31 points in the regular season and flattered to deceive in the play-in.

His TPE is going up rapidly, and if paired with good players, Boga could be in with a chance of winning the Dustin Funk trophy. That could be getting ahead of ourselves, but there’s reason to be optimistic in the performance of the big bodied Russian forward next season.

However, playoffs are the things that all players deep down want, and a decent run in them at that. The time is now.
