Greg_Di 1,028
Henry Eagles has always set himself goals for any upcoming season throughout his whole career. This started back when he was playing in junior hockey. It helped to to focus on the goal which was always achievable and he would judge his season based on how far he exceeded or not exceeded the goal. Last season Henry's goal was to hit 60 points in his season as a Sophomore. He missed this goal by 2 points which in his mind the season was a failure for him BUT he played exceptionally well in the playoffs by scoring 24 points in 22 games and winning a Continental cup. So was the goal and season for him really a failure? "To me yes, the regular season was still a failure in my mind as I didn't hit my goal. I don't count the playoffs when I set my goal " Henry explained " Failing a simple goal of 60+ points in the season will really motivate me this season to do better and hit the goal that I set for myself" This goal setting can be a good and bad thing for players, it can be good as it gives players something to achieve and something to work towards but it can be bad as it can cause an undue amount of pressure to try and achieve that goal. For Henry, the goal was never seen as stress or pressure. For this season, Henry has decided that he will try to strive for a 90+ point season. He believes this is a very achievable goal with where he is at the current point in his career. With the team-mates he has around him and the ice time he is expected to get, there should be no issues according to him to reach this number or even exceed it. "I was a first overall pick and I should be hitting 90+ points at this point in my career" Henry continues "I have to really go out and prove myself this year as in terms of first overall picks I have been slightly underperforming in my own opinion. I think this season is my breakout season and I will be able to show everyone what i'm really about. I look forward to the new season and trying to defend our cup. While I am still a team first player and want whats best for the team, I am also starting to think on how I can improve myself to win some awards" It will be interesting to see how Henry will play this season. Will he be motivated and have a fire lit under his ass to reach his goal or will be fold under the pressure and have a mediocre season? We will be providing updates throughout the season as Henry Eagles chases his first awards as well as a career high season in points. We are predicting that Henry will takeover the goal scoring lead on the Wolves and finally round out to be the sniper he is capable of being.
