der meister 3,183
Early in the year, it appears that the North American conference is the stronger of the two VHL divisions. The top three teams in points are all in North America, with Vancouver leading Los Angeles and Calgary. Those three teams are also three of the top four in goal differential, with only the Moscow Menace, second in the European conference, breaking up the trio from North America. So where does that leave Seattle? Seattle is fourth in North America with 26 points in 21 games, 7 points behind league-leading Vancouver. If Seattle were a European team, they'd be only 1 point behind Moscow and HC Davos Dynamo for the conference lead. Seattle also has the lowest goal differential of the three teams, but it's hard to say that the numbers would be the same if Seattle were in Europe. It is still early in the season, but it is certainly going to be an uphill battle for the Bears. The playoffs should be expected, but beyond making the post-season, it's impossible to predict how things will come together for Seattle.
