Being born into a poorer family in Trinidad and Tobago, BigMac didn’t have it easy growing up. His family consisted of four people. These people are his mom, dad, brother, and BigMac. Since his family was not very wealthy BigMac often found himself working several different jobs to help support his family's needs like food and clothing. While BigMac was mowing a neighbor's lawn for money he saw two boys in the street playing street hockey. BigMac was instantly interested in the sport. BigMac’s parents, knowing that he had been interested in hockey, took him to a hockey game in Trinidad. BigMac instantly fell in love with hockey and became attached to the sport. Even though his family couldn’t afford much, they sacrificed a lot to let BigMac pursue his dreams of playing hockey. His parents signed him up for a local recreation team who happened to have free gear for all their players. Although BigMac still wasn’t very good at hockey, the recreation team gave him lots of opportunities through games and practices. He learned how to shoot the puck, skate, pass, and stick handle. In his first season BigMac scored five goals with ten assists, putting up 15 points in 30 games. In the summer BigMac’s dad got a job offer in America. His family was excited as they felt they had a fresh start and an opportunity. They packed up and moved to Florida where BigMac started to take the sport very seriously. He trained everyday to become a better player and make his family proud. BigMac’s parents had made enough money in America so that BigMac didn’t have to keep working. With this extra free time BigMac didn’t play games like a lot of kids. Instead he continued to train to make a team. He made a team in Miami where he was one of the best players putting up 43 goals and 24 assists in 40 games. This season by BigMac put him on the radar for a lot of coaches at a higher level. BigMac spent many more seasons progressing and working on his skills. BigMac who is now 16 decided to take his talents to the VHLM where he could show scouts his true talent. BigMac recently signed a $1.5 million contract with the Miami Marauders and his future with the team is already looking bright.
