McDonald’s BigMac Scouting Report

BigMac is a 16 year old, currently playing in the VHML for the Miami Marauders. BigMac was born in Trinidad and Tobago where hockey isn’t as popular. Even though hockey wasn’t very popular where BigMac lived he was determined and had all the support he could ask for.

 

BigMac is a highly rated prospect upcoming for the Season 88 Draft. BigMac decided to join the Miami Marauders so that he could progress his talents as a player before his draft. As BigMac plays for the team, in his first year he has established himself as a solid depth player who can bring physicality and goals.

 

Strengths

BigMac's biggest strength on the ice is his speed. His speed allows him to blow by defenders to set up a play or take a shot. Going into BigMac’s second strength, his shot. BigMac has a lethal shot as he has been working on it since he was young. Goalies have a tough time anticipating BigMac’s shot. 

 

BigMac is also not afraid to be physical, he will go into the corner and battle it out or lay a huge hit if it means that his team will win. At 6’3 and 200 lbs BigMac has an advantage against most opponents when it comes to physicality.

 

Weaknesses

BigMac, although he is very good in many aspects, has parts of his game that are lacking. BigMac’s biggest weakness is his inconsistency. For example BigMac had a stretch where he put up 7 points in 4 games. Since then BigMac has had minimal scoring, as he progresses he hopes to be putting up more points for his team. 

 

Another one of BigMac’s weaknesses is his mindset. After tough losses BigMac tends to blame the game on himself. BigMac has had this habit since a kid and he hopes to break the habit and be a more positive player. As he goes into his draft he knows that having a positive attitude will be very important. 

 

Off-Ice

BigMac is known for his off-ice contributions. BigMac often speaks about charities and programs to help kids who cannot afford hockey. Since BigMac came from a family that was not very wealthy he knows the struggle of barely having enough money to play hockey and he wants to help anyone who struggles. He also spends time and helps the kids through their progress in the sport whenever he can.
