After taking a couple of days to digest getting swept in the first round of the VHL playoffs by the Calgary wrangler’s, the LA Stars were found cleaning out their lockers and getting ready for the off season break.

LA will have a longer off season then they originally hoped for this year as their breakthrough turnaround season was ultimately cut short by the Wranglers . The Stars really fell flat in the playoffs I’m not really sure if it was nerves or lack of experience but the Wranglers took it to them in this series outscoring them 15 to 7 in four games . Forwards Daniel Janser and Landon Wolanin owned this series with 11 and 10 points respectively. LA just couldn’t carry their regular season success into the playoffs.

Sophmore Centre Todd Cooke caught up with the LA media as he cleaned out his locker to get ready to go home to Fort McMurray Alberta to enjoy his off season and reflect on the season.

LA Media : Todd thank you for taking some time to sit with us today .

Cooke : No problem always happy to answer some questions and talk to you guys.

LA Media : Todd you guys couldn’t get the job done in the playoffs what do you think contributed most to your early exit?

Cooke : Woah you guys are coming out hot and heavy really quick aren’t ya ? Well for starters I didn’t carry over my strong regular season play at all , I don’t feel like my game personally was where it needed to be , added to that we couldn’t establish any consistent offensive pressure either , we tried just couldn’t get it going consistently.

LA Media : Your Current Contract is about to expire shortly have you and @InstantRockstar had any conversations about resigning in LA ? Or will you test the free agent market ?

Cooke : We had some early conversations in the beginning of the season and there was a solid agreement that they wanted me to continue to play in the Stars organization, as well as my wanting to stay here and play in LA . But as we got into the thick of the season and things started to get closer and closer to the playoffs the conversations kinda stalled out and we focused on our goal of making the playoffs and winning a cup. That being said I think we have some unfinished business here in LA and I wanna come back and see it through to get that Cup next season!

LA Media : Awesome we’d be glad to see you suit up for a few more seasons . How do you think this season went for you as a player ?

Cooke : We’ll first off I wish we were still fighting in the playoffs to win a championship. But honestly this season I think I did a lot of growing and began to establish myself as a two way forward in this league . Next season I just wanna take everything I learned and expand on it even further I’d love to establish myself further as a top guy on my team and in the league aswell . That’s my goal for next season.

LA Media : thanks for talking to us today Todd , again always a pleasure talking to you ! Enjoy your off season up north !

Cooke: Thanks guys appreciate it .

There you have it folks Cooke sounds ready to take another step forward next season . You’ve gotta think the Stars as a whole will take that next step aswell with all the talent the have on their roster everyone is really coming into their own and it’s just a matter of time before we see LA compete for and win a Championship.

Review:

Good article on how your player felt after the playoff loss. I can relate as my team, the Wolves, also lost in their playoff series. Good to read from the players perspective and adds more insight into the game and future plans for Cooke. The only things I would add is a picture and then maybe color code the "Media" and "Cookes" responses so that they stand out more. Well done! 8/10
