CALGARY - As the final seconds ticked away in Game Five of the Continental Cup Finals, it was more than just a game coming to an end.

Five!

It marked the end of the Continental Cup drought for the Calgary Wranglers, over twenty five years in the making. But now it was over.

Four!

It marked the end of the struggles of the Calgary Wranglers in the post-season. Many a dominant season was snuffed out without fanfare in the playoffs, but not this time.

Three!

It marked the end of the most tumultuous season of Oskar Lindbergh’s career, one which saw him facing potential retirement with the era of Joel Castle beginning in Toronto and his own contract set to expire.

Two!

It ended any doubt that Oskar Lindbergh was a second-rate player unworthy of being a top five selection in the VHL Draft. Now he finally had a crowning victory that he had not watched from then bench.

One!

It marked the beginning of something new: a title defense.

*frenzied cheers of jubilation*

The celebration had just begun, but so did the defense of the Continental Cup. Just one season after being unsure of whether or not he would play in the VHL again, Oskar Lindbergh and the Calgary Wranglers had reached the highest pinnacle of the league: winning the Continental Cup. The only question left now for Oskar Lindbergh is can he do it again?
