With the end of another season, I need to congratulate the new continental champion, Calgary Wranglers. Unrelated to that, this season is going to be the most important season for Warsaw, as they have 2 of their best players, Brendan Marner and Zach Kisslinger, retiring at the end of the season. This needs to be the year they collect another continental cup, as they team will need some big retooling these coming seasons.

Warsaw will have a good team without Brendan Marner, and Zach Kisslinger as players like Girts Galvin, and Brian Payne are still on the team, however the lack of leadership from the two veterans will be seen in the dressing room. Brendan Marner is the Alternate Captain which will leave a spot to open for some new player to fill, and Zach Kisslinger is the captain, which is an even bigger role to fill! Missing these two players are going to hurt the core and the question will be, where do they end up after the departure?

Brendan Marner and Zach Kissligner have been real Warsaw veterans both being picked later in the season 80 draft. Zach Kisslinger was a first round pick, but being picked 14th overall, this was an amazing pick as he (so far) has played 6 seasons in the VHL for Warsaw, with 504 games played (tied franchise record), 254 goals, 652 points (franchise record), and 1536 hits (franchise record). With all these records, and spending his career in Warsaw, this 14th overall pick was one hell of a steal on ex-GM Dlambs part. Brendan Marner has had a very similar outcome, the only difference being that he was picked 21st overall, and was a bit of a late bloomer. Kisslinger started his VHL career in season 81, but Marner started in season 82, and hes been amazing ever since. With his 5 VHL seasons on Warsaw (so far) he has 432 games played, 244 goals, 579 points, and 1371 hits. He as well was an amazing pick found in the rough by ex-GM Dlamb. Through many redrafts nowadays, Brendan Marner and Zach Kisslinger would easily go top 10, some might even argue top 5 of the dedication to their own team.

These two players gave everything for the team in Warsaw, but they only brought home 1 cup, so the win needs to come to show the legacy these two players brought to Warsaw. One season is left for them, and they are getting ready to play better than they’ve ever played. They are going to go down in history as two of the best players in Warsaw history, and deservedly so. Kisslinger is already having some of his records tested by Marner, its hard to say if it will turn to anything, but 2 active players fighting for the same franchise record shows how good these players are. Regardless of the outcome of the records, this will likely go down as one of, if not the best same draft class duo in VHL history.
