sterling 1,997
The New York Americans appear in for a long season of fighting for the top spot in the league. With a mere single point separating the Quebec City Meute and the Helsinki Titans (either way) from the Americans, the last half or more of the season promises to remain intense. The Meute and Titans have combined to play the Americans once each and it is no secret that both teams will be looking to improve their rosters for the second half stretch. "We can't really get too focused on other teams and what they are doing. We still feel like we're the top dog in the league and so far our play has kind of shown that to be true. Do I expect it to be a really close second half? Yes. Do I expect us to be winning again this season? Of course. We have a lot of big names players on this team and they know when to show up even if their stats aren't quite up to where they want them to be at this point in the season," New York player Tom Slaughter said.
