Bojovnik 487
Let’s start with the good news. The Seattle Bears are still top of the North American Conference. Well, joint-top. Plus, the tiebreaker is currently with the Chicago Phoenix. It’s been a mixed week for the Bears, particularly after their strong start saw the Washington-state side without a regulation loss through their first 10 or so games. The Chicago Phoenix, on the back of a five-game win streak, now sit in first place in the North American Conference a little over a quarter of the way through the regular season. The Bears are still the best offensive side in the VHL, racking up a ridiculous 76 goals through 22 games, but question marks are starting to be raised about what the Bears are doing without the puck. They’ve conceded 58 goals, which is middle of the road. “We’ve got to be better. We had such a good start and it would be criminal to let it slip now. Things have been going great in the attacking zone, but I know that we need to be better in our own zone, without the puck. At the end of the day, defense wins championships, and that’s what we’ve got to be focused on,” Russian forward Yaroslav Bogatyrev said on Sunday.
