Well enjoy your endless stream of superhero movies.  Not sure why you need to be such a cunt about it though.

EDIT:  I went back and read your posts on these movies and you're obviously a superfan of this genre of movie.  Nothing wrong with that and I can see why you might feel attacked when someone else doesn't share your passion for something, or in my case, even sees it as uninteresting or boring.

Still no need to act like a twat, but at least now I know where it's coming from.

Here's the whole Phase 3 announcement event. I keep watching the Avengers: Infinity War teaser, my body can't handle it. It's too much. Those last few seconds where it's like. "AVENGERS. INFINITY WAR. PART I, MAY 2018. PART II, MAY 2019." combined with the music and... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

So, after taking much grief from multiple people over have not seen Guardians of the Galaxy, I finally sat down last night with my wife to watch it on XBMC.  My wife loves these kinds of movies and was really excited.  I went in with very low expectations because I'm so sick and tired of superhero movies.

The end result was that at the 1 hour mark I fell asleep because the movie was so boring and stupid.  The jokes were not funny, the characters were formulaic, and the story was exactly like every other superhero movie.  I woke up again with about 20 minutes to go and was interested what was in the box frm his mom.  Boy, that was shocking - not.

My wife, who loves this kind of crap, had to force herself to watch it all.  At the end we were literally laughing at how cheesy and stupid it was - with the superheros holding hands, and all of the other cheese going on.  Even she, who eats up superhero movies like candy, thought Guardians of the Galaxy was just a flat out dumb movie.

So, I have been told time and again that Guardians of the Galaxy is different.  That I should give it a chance.  That superhero movies have a great future and that Guardians of the Galaxy was evidence of that.  After my experience last night I can honestly say that I fully done with that genre.  It has nothing left to offer me.  If that's one of the best movies of that genre then I can't see how I will ever enjoy that genre any more.  I went into it with really low expectations, and was let down.  It's rare that a movie can't even live up to the crap expectations that I set for it.

Now, all of that being said, I am fully aware that people love these types of shows. It doesn't make me a better person that I don't, but to claim that these new superhero shows are somehow different now is not something I can get on board with.  It's unfortunate, as I know the cinema is going to be filled with these shows for a long long time.  At least I know I can avoid them now and feel completely certain that I am not missing anything that I will regret.
