No on was expecting 21st overall pick Shubham Anand to seamlessly adapt to VHLE play. However, rumors are comming out of Vasteras that imply that things are far worse than the team would have you believe. What started with a massive slide in the VHLE draf has moved to the point where Shubham is reported considering asking for a trade. This frustration is likely the result of trading away longtime teammate and close friend Fradin McGryer two games into the season. The growing pains of a young Iron Eagles team and in Shubham's play while not unexpected, probably haven't helped his already sour mood. Then there is the usual adjustment to living in a new country. Shubham has reported struggled learning Swedish and to adapt to life in a small foreign community. The cold hasn't been as seemingly bad on Shubham as many have projected it would be but he has reported spends much of his free time in a sauna. Shubham himself has said that he wants to focus on his hockey and running his new company, so take all rumors in this article with a pound of salt. We will have to wait see if Shubham and the Iron Eagles can improve their performance or if something else happens.
