Now that the season is half over everyone can get a better idea where the teams are going to line up and which players are going to perform and those who are just here for the ride. It's an interesting launch of a new player in the “M” compared to my last three players. The league has changed in a way that is hard to figure out. Not sure it's a development league anymore as many players have four or five seasons staying down. I wonder how this came to be. It used to be so exciting to have players push each other to earn and get good to move up to the big league. Something has changed. Well half a season, the playoffs and I am out of that league. I am going to try the “E” for the first time. I look forward to building my player up to compete better once moved into the big league. I think this is a great step to advance a player's career. I have seen too many underwhelming rookie seasons in the VHL to know it would be better to have a few more skills learned before advancing.

Onto my favorite subject, the hybrid system. While I was very vocal about how it was implemented, I can see that a good player can be built using this system. I also think that his experiment needs to be looked at and a few adjustments could be made. I would start with the ratios. A bump up in a few skills and for the love of God, what does Penalty Shot do in our sim since it was there before the hybrid system and now were are forced to put points in it without the sim actually having penalty shots during a game. A little light on that would be helpful. Regression sucks and I think instead of just coming up with such a harsh 12 percent, maybe that should have been raised to nine or ten to start with. Just my thoughts on the matter. Everyone has some sort of opinion, this is just mine.

Everyone have a safe holiday.

This is something I'm very intrigued by as I dig through everyone's roster for an upcoming article--it's not at all uncommon to see players not make it to the VHL after four or five seasons, and sometimes even more. I've come across multiple 6's, and even one player with eight--an active player too. Imagine spending over a year in our development system and only getting one season in the league that people actually care about. Granted, this isn't an E complaint as much as it's a "you need 400 TPE to make the VHL most of the time" complaint, but the E not being marketed as a development league was a huge mistake IMO. It's not supposed to be one but I think it could benefit from some rules prioritizing actives and rewarding GMs who foster activity as there aren't any currently.

You have a good take on this issue. I am wondering why so many members are happy to push a few buttons once a week and not fully experience the true fun of the VHL. My player is going to progress organically and see where he is after a season in the E. I can hardly wait.

@Steve we have spoken and I think genuinely there are players who earn welfare and PF and that's it right. That's all they'll ever do. And in the past those people could make the VHL and have roles eventually but in the mean time they got to play and be hype with all the new people in the M. Now, there is the E, and they just don't want to be there sadly. To my estimation 4-5 people could be considered M lifers.

Sjin- went IA for sporadic period and then transitioned to attempting to break the All-Time M points record after screwing up his earning.

Dylan- he is just voluntarily here.

Tyler Swift- that's my GF and they just aren't invested in this enough to earn consistently.

Aky- sporadic earner, I think his existence in the M for this long is purely out of inconsistency with being a welfare player and is 100% unintentional, had we not won the cup last season I'm pretty sure he would have been content to play in the E but the opportunity to repeat is enticing.

CaringBear - he is sporadic earner, was IA for like 2 seasons, just forgets to update often.

I think the fact 3 of these people are on Philly kind of makes it feel weirder for you but that's kind of just how it is, these are people who want to play for this team and I'm not gonna hate on them for wanting to stay with the people they've been around for a while. Also part of it is convenience, rather have them in the league and do our best to get them moved up than let them go and have them just not want to go through effort of getting in a new LR season to season. Not that I think this a great reason just a factor one could consider... Overall, I think most people try to move through the M, just tough to get people interested in more than the free 6 a week.
