Cologne Advances to VHLE Finals

In a surprising turn of events, the Cologne Express powered through the first round of the VHLE playoffs, sweeping aside the Rome Gladiators in a decisive 4-0 victory. The series showcased Cologne's dominance on both ends of the ice but especially in net where goaltender Clark put up multiple shutout performances.

The defensive core, led by Joseph Dubois and Jordan Bennett, proved instrumental in stifling Rome's offensive efforts, allowing a mere four goals throughout the entire series. Also notable were the performances of Theo Allard and Baby Moo Moo who stepped up big time to demonstrate their offensive prowess, contributing crucial goals when needed. Joshua Schwarzer, who had already showcased his scoring touch in the latter part of the regular season, continued his offensive impact with three goals in the series.

But the shining star was really goaltender Clark stood tall, boasting an impressive .971 save percentage and securing two shutouts in the four-game sweep. The team's defensive resilience and offensive firepower were on full display, signaling their readiness for the challenges that lie ahead in the postseason.

With this sweep, the Cologne Express advances to the finals with confidence and momentum. They wait the winner of Vasteras and Stockholm which is currently tied 2-2. Either team would be a formidable opponent but right now Cologne looks poised to repeat!
