Up until this season, the professional career of Jimi Jax was defined by being on the bad side of an upset. From the single VHLE season with a dominant Oslo, to Ronan Lavelle’s farewell tour in S90 - the American born center fell short of high expectations – but not this year.

For the first time in the VHL universe, Jax is a champion along with his good buddy Mac Atlas, who’s been around his hockey family going back to the USNTDP days. Both Jax and Atlas have been part of the Legion core since the beginning of the rebuild a few seasons back – and now they both share the Continental Cup with a few more seasons of VHL eligibility to improve their legacy. Jax doesn’t believe it was anything to do with the way he plays that lead to the Legion’s success.

“I think the team just clicked a lot better in the playoffs – Atlas was finishing his chances and Castle was lights out. He really kept us in every single game, even the first two losses against Helsinki. We’ve been one of the best teams in the league after the second half. Just glad we had the bounces go our way too”

Jimi will take some time off to enjoy the win before his training starts. The one thing he won’t be doing this offseason – is figuring out how to come back from another disappointment.
