Turmoil in Moscow - promises of long off-season break taken back?

Rumors coming from Moscow suggest a number of players on the roster are currently facing an uncertain future. Moscow Menace finished 7th in the European division last year. Despite the roster improving steadily week after week, many players have already been planning their off-season holidays as expectations for the team this year were an outside shot of making the playoffs. Against expectations, Moscow Menace has started the ongoing season with 6 wins from 7 games, resulting in an uncertain future, and numerous hotel and plane reservations being canceled.

 

Moscow Menace center Jarmo Ruutu commented on the hot start after a 3-1 win from Warsaw: "Yeah you know it is what it is, we had a tough year last year and now we are first in the league. Of course, we have not played even ten games yet, but a lot of players have been forced to adjust mentally, we might play a long season this time around. That is something many of the players in the locker room have never dealt with before, but we will get there together. If we have to cancel our holidays and book them at the last minute - that is something we just have to deal with"
