Saskatoon made two big trades the night before the trade deadline showing that they're interested in looking to the future rather then attempting to make a dark horse run this year. The first of the two trades was with the Miami Marauders which looked something like this.

                    Miami Receives
                LW-Forum Content GP: 52 G:30 A:53 P:83 @frescoelmo
                LW-UghSike    GP: 52 G:20 A:26 P:46 @UghSike
                    Saskatoon Receives
                RW-Leon Bruhmaninho GP:52 G:15 A:35 P:50 @BigBruhman
                S93 Miami 1st round pick
                S94 Miami 2nd round pick

This trade makes Miami look like a team to beat going down the stretch but not being done with just that they made another trade with their western conference rival Las Vegas Aces as the Aces looked to bolster their already powerful offense.

                    Las Vegas receives
                RW-Annie Oaks GP:52 G:31 A:33 P:64 @Noodle Enjoyer
                S93 Saskatoon 6th round pick
                    Saskatoon receives
                D-Masa Akimoto GP:48 G:5 A:18 P:23 @Hokikeijot
S93 Las Vegas 2nd round pick
S93 Las Vegas 3rd round pick

We managed to catch up with Annie to ask her what were her thoughts on the move and how she felt about her time in Saskatoon.
"I've had a blast playing here in Saskatoon for a great management team and some incredible teammates. But I'm entering a new leg of my journey and am excited to play hockey in the USA for the first time in my career, I'm hoping to score early and often in Vegas!"

We also got a quick quote from Las Vegas GM @McLovinand he had this to say about the deal
"We're one of the best offensive teams in the league right now, so adding Annie Oaks is only going to make scoring goals easier. I can't wait to see what they do in an Aces sweater."

It remains to be seen if any other deals will be made in the ten hours remaining before the trade deadline (as of posting this) but these two trades may upset the power balance in the league. Saskatoon will be looking to build a future contender for the next few seasons with the haul of picks and two young players they've acquired and this appears to be a good deal for everyone involved.
