Moderator Ricer13 2,796 Posted May 22 Moderator Share Posted May 22 Spider Panda originates from a small town in South Korea called Namwon. He spent the majority of his young childhood living in this small town but it’s not where he originated from. He was born in the mountains of Nepal but was moved to Korea at the age of 2 so he has no recollection of what Nepal was like. He grew up as any normal Panda would do, living in a bamboo house surrounded by a beautiful series of lakes. When he was about 10 years old he had gotten separated from his parents and was taken captive by a zoo. He spent only a few weeks in this zoo before being shipped to New York City. The struggle was real for this poor panda as he had to deal with being separate from his family, not know where they were or if they were safe. He spent 6 months in a zoo in New York City before his life changed in the most unheard of way. A spider had come down from the ceiling one day and bit him while he was sleeping. He woke up panicked, sweating and not feeling himself. As days went on he started realizing that he was stronger than he once was, faster and could stick to surfaces. He would eventually use these abilities to escape this prison they call a zoo. Spider Panda now out in the world alone, had to survive on his own. How could a panda survive in a world of humans without being thrown right back into a zoo? One day he found the answer to that question. He was climbing by a ten story window when he saw something on the TV that caught his eye. It was a Red Panda playing hockey. A panda in the net playing in a Victory Hockey League game. This inspired Spider Panda, if Red Panda can do it then why couldn’t he? He even had a little extra gifts that Red Panda never had. Spider began working on his skills as a goalie in a the back alleys of New York. One day a group of kids saw him and thought it was hilarious. They brought him along to one of their pick up games thinking it would be hilarious to shoot on a panda. Little did they know this panda was about to put them in their place. He spent that whole evening stopping every puck that came his way and did the news of a panda stopping pucks spread quickly. The crowd was massive around this arena with spectators from all over tuning in. People were streaming it on their phones. Little did he know, that this would change his life forever. Spider was approached by a man one day that had seen him play over one of the streams. He wanted panda to come tryout for his junior team. The loopholes to have animals play were already set in place since Red Panda had already paved the way so it was pretty easy to get started. Spider would make the junior team as the back up goalie after his first tryout. It was a big transition for his teammates to be playing with an animal but as they warmed up to him and the idea of it he was quickly moved into a starting goalie position. He spent a few years playing hockey and realized his skill was too high for this level of play. He had his mind set on following Red Pandas path and then exceeding it. He would then declare for the VHL and start working his way up from the VHLM. Before he could do that he had a major life event he needed to get taken care of. Back at the start of this we talked about how he was separated from his parents at a young age. It had been years and has still never heard from his parents, he still doesn’t know if they’re even alive or what they’re going through all this time without their son. He had built up quite the following during his time playing hockey. He put it out to the world and told them about his story. Thousands of fans came to his aid and started putting funds together to send him home to look for his family. He spent a year looking for them in Korea and without any luck. He had given up all hope by this point. Before coming back to New York he decided to visit the place he was born and flew over to Nepal. It was a story book ending as he was reunited with his family who had fled to Nepal after the incident many years ago. Spider Pandas family was shocked to hear about his life in New York but were so proud of what he had accomplished. They decided to make the move with him back to New York and support his goals of one day playing in the VHL.
