diacope 1,696
Hi VHL! My name is Meghan, and today I'm going to be talking about my experiences before the VHLM 94 inaugural draft. It may have been a little different than 90% of the other players because my agent diacope told scouts I wasn't active and my draft position slipped, but I'd wanted to be unique anyway, so no hard feelings; it added to my overall story. Speaking of stories, let's get started! May 21, 2:34 p.m. Sleeping in is awesome, and like any other day, I spent most of my draft in a deep slumber, totally forgetting about phone calls and text messages until I woke up. From what I can remember, my dream went a little like this. Dancalot makes a move and catches a wild pass! She skates to the blue line and chucks the puck in!! Dancalot retrieves the puck and shoo.. And before I could attempt to score an elite dangle move on a future VHLM goaltender that looked like @firekiss, I woke up and my eyes opened wide. "MEGGGGGGGGGG!" screamed my brother. I knew exactly what he was excited for. Instead of wasting time untangling my hair with my hands, my feet took the fast pace. Unfortunately, I stumbled down the stairs in the process, but I was still able to respond with a "LETS GOOOOOOO. After replying and checking notifications for the next few hours, a realisation came to me: how the heck was I going to get to San Diego in time for training camp? The airport was down for a month, and it's impossible to drive from Ireland to my new home. Unless I used my uncle's rowboat May 28, 10:09 p.m. Seven nights later, I finally arrived at the marina in top form from all the big waves. The next thing I had to do was enter the arena, in a cute outfit, of course. With the night sky showing and an empty road ahead of me, it was hard to find it at first, but I was there. Meeting my teammates was the next step, and before I could know it, my own nervousness took over. Thinking about myself arriving on time had to get me some brownie points, and it did, but instead of a brownie, it was fish guts. Yeah, oops, I entered a backdoor to a restaurant by accident before actually arriving at my destination Now with a glowing sign ahead (hopefully I didn't get sick from the splatter) and fans honking horns, probably because of my soaked hockey gear, I knew the next spot was it. This time I had no extra nerves to vibrate, so I entered the locker room without hesitation. "WELCOME HELLO, HOWDY!" said my teammates. "LETS GOOOO!" responded my manager. After the introductions, I knew I had joined a great group, and thanks to them and their support, I was able to write this. Stay tuned for my "after" version of this article! Thanks for taking the time to read!! *munching brownie noises* Triller, Spartan and Royski 2 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/148578-before-the-draft/ Share on other sites

Easily VHL caliber from rowing across the Atlantic in 7 days. I'm very afraid of how hard you might be shooting the puck. Congrats on getting drafted and welcome to NA! diacope 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/148578-before-the-draft/#findComment-1027595 Share on other sites
