1) I'm very tired. This year has been pretty brutal. We've been short staffed at work all school year, downsized by 25%, and I was put in a management position in September. But all that means is that I'm doing my old job and trying to also do my new one. 

 

2) The Mississauga Hounds season has been one of much confusion. I'm not sure what's going on with the lines, but we're clearly not getting the most out of our lineup. We're definitely not a top team, based on our threadbare roster, but we should be higher up the standings than we are.

 

3) Continuing on the tired theme, our dog wakes us up between 5 and 5:30 every morning, and after my wife feeds him she starts practicing violin. You have no idea how loud a violin really is until someone starts playing it when you're trying to sleep.

 

4) Through 8 games, Miami and Mexico are the top two teams, but what I find interesting is their style differences. Miami leads the league with 34 goals (4.25 per game) while giving up 23 (2.875), while Mexico has scored 25 (3.125 per game) and allowed 15 (1.875). Both are impressive, but holding the typically high-scoring VHLM to under 2 goals a game against is noteworthy. Only Halifax has surrendered fewer, with 13 (1.625 per game).
