Calgary Shakes up Playoff Projections

The Calgary Wranglers have had a sensational start to the season, emerging as the top team in the league with a perfect record of 11-0-0.

Leading the charge for Calgary is Catia Goncalves, who has been nothing short of spectacular. Goncalves has racked up 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) in just 11 games with a remarkable 13% shooting percentage. Center Raimo Tuominen has also been instrumental, contributing 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists). He is also boasting an impressive 12.05% shooting percentage and has scored 4 game winners.

Calgary's success has made the North American Conference's playoff race particularly interesting. At the start of the season, many through that there were five teams that were clearly bound for the post-season in each conference. While in Europe this has held true for Malmo, London, Warsaw, Riga, and Moscow, the Wranglers' early dominance means that one of Toronto, Chicago, New York, Seattle, or Vancouver might find themselves outside of the playoffs.

As the season progresses, Calgary will look to maintain their momentum and continue their streak. While it will surely end at some point, they might have just put enough distance between themselves and the North American Sixth seed to make the other teams sweat.
