rory 1,916
This theme week is stupid but that's okay with 1.5/3 active commissioners! I'm going to instead write my VHLM active about random players in the VHLM, because I don't want to get banned for revealing my true thoughts about how the VHLM is run (lol 3 empty teams xD). Einar Mathiesen - Mathiesen is a defensively responsible defenseman that has been a core member of the Miami core since being acquired from Las Vegas (0 players lul). Picking up 7 goals and 40 points on the Marauders, he has been a key player in their success this season. Mathiesen will be turning heads for the VHL and E drafts, as the young defender's intangible skill and impressive reach are important in their first couple of seasons adjusting to the pros. I would like this player to continue to work on their slapshot to add another offensive weapon to the Maruaders backline, and possibly opening up more consistent playoff time as a threat from the blue line. David Michael - David Michael is a two first name player that seems like they'd be my type of forward!! A two-way player that excels at bumping the opposition off the puck and winning tight board battles in both the defensive and offensive zones. Michael has been a key part of the Houston penalty kill, as well as being a solid shut down option combined with forwards Squlliam Goon, and David Pastanap. Once this young player figures out how to consistently put the puck in the back of the oppositions net they will be a force in the VHLM next season, as well as the E and beyond! Michael is a fantastic forechecker that moves smartly around the ice but is simply all brains and no skill at the moment, here's hoping David can get some nice mitts! Nathan Blaize - Blaize is an intriguing player on the Mexico City Kings this season. Primarily a playmaker, this forward is known for their general all around abilities in the VHLM. Truly a swiss army knife for the Kings, I am interested to see how he is moulded by his current general managers, and whomever selects him in the VHL and VHLE entry drafts. I hope this player can become a strong force in the M next season! Good luck! I hope somebody teaches you what the skills are sooner rather then later! What's going in Mexico City!? A player like this needs to be given more trust by their general manager to take risks because of their impressive ability to recover on the backcheck, but we'll see how their skills develop over time. Alphonse Desjardins - Now lets look at a defenseman version of David Michael, previously mentioned above. This French defenseman is also a defensive force while knowing how to use their size to unbalance, and possibly smother opponents into submission. This fella must have iron shins, collecting 50 blocks in their 32 games thusfar! I'm most impressed by the defenders ability to move the puck up ice quickly, either through a breakout pass from the back or by skating it up themselves! You always have to be careful of this player because of their sneaky explosiveness which allows them to move into positions for crushing hits and to pinch up the boards without being totally out of the play if they miss - which doesn't happen very often!
